Season 1: What is Finnish Architecture?
In 2024, the Museum of Finnish Architecture was merged into a new entity, the Architecture and Design Museum. At the time, it was the second oldest museum dedicated to its national architecture in the world. To mark the significance of this change, we ask what is (or was) Finnish Architecture?
The first season of New Academy Radio invites scholars and practitioners to provide their critical analyses and eye-witness accounts on the movements of Finnish architecture over the past century and beyond. Tackling key topics such as architectural education, principles of design, and the titans of Finnisharchitecture, this season comprises interviews and discussions that offer a rich and polyphonic perspective that bring depth and nuance to the established narratives of Finnish architecture.
