Collections, the heart of the museum

The extensive and diverse collections of the Architecture & Design Museum illuminate the history and development of Finnish applied arts and architecture. The museum’s collections of objects and architectural models, together with its image archive, archives and library, form a comprehensive picture of the history of Finnish architecture and design. This significant national collection of architecture and design is owned and managed by the Architecture & Design Museum Foundation.

The collections of the Architecture & Design Museum form the foundation of the museum’s exhibition programme. They are presented in the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions and travelling exhibitions.

The collections are currently being moved to new premises, and collection services and image services are therefore temporarily closed.
