Welcome to a guided tour at the Architecture and Design Museum! Experience the exhibition of your choice with a knowledgeable guide. The tour provides a deeper understanding of the exhibition through selected works and highlights its key themes. There will also be time for questions and discussion. Guided tours are available in Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, in plain language, and with audio description. Please share any wishes or needs related to the tour when making a reservation.

You can book a workshop to enrich your group’s museum visit. In our workshops, tools from architecture, design or planning are introduced and explored hands-on through collaborative activities. Workshops are subject to a fee and are primarily held in Finnish, English, and Swedish for various types of groups. Public workshops can be found separately in our event calendar.

We offer architectural walking tours for different kinds of groups in Finnish and English. Instructions for visiting groups

Groups are welcome to visit the Architecture and Design Museum independently by notifying our customer service, or by booking one of the paid learning and group services listed above. The museum’s engaging guided tours, workshops and walking tours offer a great way to deepen your visit or create memorable moments through architecture and design. We provide services for groups of all ages and tailor each encounter to the needs of the participants. Guided tours, workshops and walking tours work equally well as inspiring parts of educational visits or as meaningful shared experiences in leisure and team activities.

Booking terms and contact information

Please book your service well in advance, at least two weeks before your preferred date. Cancellations must be made no later than three days (72 hours) before the scheduled time. The full price will be charged for cancellations made too late or not made at all. You may reschedule your booking up to three days (72 hours) before the confirmed time.

The booking is considered preliminary until confirmed. We will assign a staff member to your booking and then send you a confirmation by email. Please also check your spam folder!

Information for educational groups

Book a guided tour, workshop or walking tour for your educational group to enrich the learning experience. Our guided services and workshops are suitable for early childhood education groups, preschools, primary and secondary schools, upper secondary schools and other secondary-level institutions. Each group is met at an age-appropriate level. Please let us know your wishes when booking, so we can offer a service that best suits your group.

Discounted service prices for rehabilitation and equivalent groups

Rehabilitation and other equivalent groups* can book Architecture and Design Museum services—such as guided tours, workshops and architecture walks—at a reduced rate.

*This applies to social, health and welfare sector organizations and third-sector actors that provide support related to mental health, peer activities, employment or integration. The discount is intended for groups that benefit from lower service prices.

The museum is a versatile learning environment that supports curriculum goals. Architecture and design fit well across multiple subjects and are ideal for interdisciplinary and phenomenon-based learning in early childhood and basic education.

We offer guided tours for educational groups in Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, in plain language and with audio description. Workshops are available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Architecture walks are available in Finnish and English.

The maximum size for a guided group is 25 people. However, educational groups with supervisors may participate as one group, even if the group size slightly exceeds the limit.
