Juhani Pallasmaa Reference Library

The Juhani Pallasmaa Reference Library will be open to visitors from September onwards at Eteläranta 6, the Architecture & Design Museum’s new venue for events and encounters.

The internationally renowned architect, architectural theorist and professor Juhani Pallasmaa has donated his personal library of approximately 12,000 volumes to the collections of the Architecture & Design Museum. A curated reference library has now been created from this collection, comprising around one tenth of the total material. The project was curated together with Pallasmaa by the Chief Information Specialist Suvi Juvonen from the Architecture & Design Museum.

The selection brings together authors and works that represent Pallasmaa’s key intellectual influences, friends, collaborators and sources of inspiration, while reflecting his broad interest in world cultures, the arts and human thought. The books may be explored and read at Eteläranta 6, but they are not available for loan.
