Collections
Our extensive and diverse collections shed light on the history and evolution of Finnish design and architecture. The museum’s collections include objects, architectural models, photographs, and archival materials, offering a comprehensive view of Finnish architectural and design heritage. The collections also include materials from the Arabia Museum, the Iittala Glass Museum, the Nuutajärvi Glass Museum, and the Hackman-Sorsakoski collections. These collections are at the heart of our exhibitions.

Library

Library
The Architecture and Design Museum’s library is a specialist architecture library open to all. The collections include books, magazines, interviews, and correspondence. Books are also available for loan. The library is located on the first floor of Building A (Kasarmikatu 24), and no admission fee is required to visit.
Library closes on 14 September 2025
The museum’s library is preparing to relocate to new premises. Library services at Kasarmikatu 24 will close on 14 September 2025. Materials borrowed from the library can be kept until the end of September 2026. After the closure, all due dates will be extended to 30 September 2026. There’s still time to borrow what you need between June and September 2025 for a one-year loan.
