Exhibition Intro to Escape to Moominvalley

Welcome to explore the world of the Escape to Moominvalley exhibition in greater depth! We offer exhibition intros to our main exhibition an the world of the Moomins every week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The exhibition intro is a 30-minute guided introduction where you can sit back and listen as the guide introduces the key themes and stories of the main exhibition. A visual presentation combined with the guide’s expertise offers new perspectives and helpful tips to help you get the most out of the exhibition at your own pace.

We recommend arriving around 15 minutes in advance. Before the exhibition intro begins, you can take part in the fun Escapism Poetry Game, where you can create your own poems and send them to be displayed on a screen for everyone to enjoy. A smartphone is required to scan the QR code.

Participation

You can join the exhibition intro with a museum ticket, and no advance booking is required. Please register for the intro at the museum’s customer service desk upon arrival. Exhibition

Escape to Moominvalley highlights the global celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Moomin stories. The beloved Moomins, created by Finnish artist and author Tove Jansson (1914–2001), have become cultural icons in Finland and beyond. Jansson originally envisioned Moominvalley as a safe haven in turbulent times. Escape to Moominvalley explores how Jansson perceived architecture and design in her own life and how these elements are reflected in the stories of Moominvalley.
